Caroline Gorski is the Group Director of R² Data Labs, the data innovation and artificial intelligence catalyst inside Rolls-Royce. She describes her role: “We create data and AI-based innovations, apps and services that improve the way Rolls-Royce and our customers operate. We harness industry knowledge and engineering expertise to unlock new value from data that others can't. We believe that only collaborative innovation will find the most undiscovered value from data.” Previously, Caroline was Head of IoT and Digital Manufacturing at the Digital Catapult. The Digital Catapult works to accelerate UK competitiveness in the digital economy. As Head of Internet of Things (IoT) Caroline and her team developed and drove innovation in the IoT and sought to advance the UK’s global leadership in IoT and increase the adoption of high quality IoT technologies.
John Mannes
Investor @Basis Set Ventures
John Mannes is an investor at Basis Set Ventures, a $300M early-stage venture fund focused on companies fundamentally transforming the way people work. John supports founders applying machine learning and automation within production, logistics and commerce. John led TechCrunch’s AI coverage, providing analysis on hundreds of companies applying machine learning to solve enterprise problems. He has also contributed to outlets like NPR, SXSW and The Washington Post on advancements in artificial intelligence. He previously drove technology modernization in the nation’s 17th-largest school district.
Nathan Pascarella
Director @Hypertherm Ventures
Nathan serves as the Director of Hypertherm Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Hypertherm, an industrial cutting company based in Hanover, NH. Hypertherm Ventures launched in early 2019 and in addition to developing its strategic thesis, he directed the closing of the first investments and continues to oversee the pipeline and ongoing investment activities. In 2020 he was named an Emerging Leader by Global Corporate Ventures. Nathan has been an active member in the technology community and serves on the board of directors of the NH Tech Alliance. He brings extensive experience in strategic business and product development ranging from industrial controls, software, advanced electronic devices, and consumer products. He is passionate about the intersection of business and technology, always working with key stakeholders to understand market problems and translating them into winning solutions.
